A professional football team, Fayetteville Guard is based in Fayetteville, North Carolina. The team was founded in 2003 and plays their home games at the Cumberland County Crown Coliseum. The Fayeeville Guard is a member of the National Indoor Football League. Charles Gunnings is the current head coach of the team.
In 2004, the team was almost folded but some local investors saved the team. As a result the team began to play in the Florence Civic Center and managed to finish with 3-6 in their shortened season. In 2005, the Fayetteville Guard was purchased again and moved to Fayetteville. The team finished 2005 season with the record of 7-7.
In 2006, the Fayetteville Guard defeated the Lakeland Thunderbolts and River City Rage and finished with the record of 13-1. The team’s colors are: black, green, and gold.

A minor-professional ice hockey team, Fayetteville FireAntz is based in Fayetteville, North Carolina. The team was founded in 2002 and play in the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL). John Marks is the current head coach of the team. The Fayetteville FireAntz play their home games at the Cumberland County Crown Coliseum that is a 13,500-seat multi-purpose arena in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Now the team has drafted new players and some of them are: Goaltender Chad Collins and Forwards Steve Roberts, George Nistas, Josh Welter, Tim Velemirovich, Matt Kohansky, Dean Jackson, David Bagley, Rob Sich and many more. The team’s colors are: black, red and yellow.
